A Tradition of Excellence
In 1984, disappointed with the constraints of retail sales, Phil Joseph left his job
with Pacific Stereo and started his own company in the fledgling audio/video
consulting industry. At the time, very few companies existed to provide
technical help with selecting and installing high-end audio and video equipment,
and Phil worked long and hard to fill that need.
Over the years, AVT has developed into a multi-faceted company that provides people with
professional design and installation on all types of electronic entertainment
and utility systems from home theaters to lighting. We provide design,
consulting, installation, calibration, programming and most importantly individualized instruction.
Nationally Recognized
Based out of the San Francisco Bay Area, we have a client list that extends throughout
California and, on occasion, other states as well. Although AVT generally
does not advertise, our referral and repeat business keeps us
busy. Working closely with high quality
contractors such as Mark Becker Construction gives us a head start on
designing top-notch systems for a wide range of homeowners.
Professional Staff
Although Phil is still involved in all facets of AVT, he relies on Brian Hobbs and Larry Houser
to provide the specialized expertise for his company.
Brian is the field manager and is responsible for training all of AVT's installers
as well as being a project manager and lead installer. Larry is the system designer
and works individually with clients to assess their needs. Larry also handles product
research as well as the extensive programming and documentation duties that are necessary
for today's complex systems.
CEDIA Membership
A CEDIA member,AVT attends the trade group's training series and expos to keep
up to date on the latest technologies and trends within the industry. Being a member of
CEDIA has helped us mold AVT into the organization that it is today.
